Speaker: Mel Beighton, Senior Applications Specialist

Please introduce yourself and tell us about your role in the company.

Mel Beighton: Hi, I'm Mel Dayton, and I'm a Senior Application Specialist at CereCore International. I've worked in healthcare in the UK, in both the independent sector and in the NHS. In my role, I could be helping a client with various aspects of their project, for example, as an extra pair of hands with dictionary building, configuration, knowledge sharing, or training and supporting their implementation team. My aim is to help the client to use the system with workflows that are as streamlined and enhanced as possible. This helps both clinical and non clinical departments to provide the best possible patient care as well as facilitating accurate reporting.

What I enjoy most about working at CereCore International is…

Mel Beighton: What I enjoy most about working at CereCore International is that we are a team who are setting the foundations of the company. We're all purpose driven with the goal to make our company a success and to deliver results that make our clients a success, and that is what challenges and motivates me.

How would you describe your experience with the company culture so far?

Mel Beighton: My experience with the company culture so far is that everyone is warm and welcoming and passionate about their role. We've got a pool of skilled and experienced people that rarely know their stuff and that I can draw on when I need to. We also have some members of the team who are new to healthcare, and week by week it's obvious that their knowledge is constantly growing.

A fun fact you would like to share with others...

Mel Beighton: A fun fact about me is before moving to the UK. My hobbies mostly revolved around horses, and in my spare time, I was a show jumping course builder. Recently, I've tried out a number of new hobbies dog agility, growing cut, flowers and pottery, and so far pottery has lasted the longest.

Finish this sentence: I am a link to life-saving care because…

Mel Beighton: I'm a link to life saving care because a well configured system is the keystone of a safe, reliable and up to date patient health record, and this is what helps to save lives.
