Speaker: John Walsh, Manager, MEDITECH Professional Services
John Walsh: Hi everyone. My name is John Walsh and I am a manager on the MEDITECH professional services consulting team. I currently have 12 talented consultants that report to me, and I'm also actively involved in helping clients assess, optimize and implement the MEDITECH solution.
How have you grown in your career since working at CereCore?
John Walsh: so out of college, I actually started working at MEDITECH, which got my foot in the door to the health care industry. After that I moved on to work for a hospital corporation in the Boston area. And then for nine years I've actually worked for CereCore as a senior consultant. Within the last year I moved to a management role and I really had the luxury of helping other teams such as L2 support team, our technical services team, in our marketing team, which really gave me perspective on how other teams operate. Through that time, I met a lot of mentors that have pushed me to grow and to kind of go outside my comfort zone. One of the things that I cherish is that I went through the aspiring managers program and today, not only do I try to educate our staff on that program, but I also serve as a mentor for that program because it's important for me to continue to grow and to help our staff advance their careers.
Describe a rewarding moment in your career at CereCore.
John Walsh: Professionally I've been able to travel over the years, the places that I never would have gone to without this career and along the road, I have met some amazing people that I still stay in touch with. But with each project you have unique challenges starting with day one, all the way up until go live. You're looking to help that client have a successful implementation of the MEDITECH platform. So having our team help facilities go through successful implementation to me is extremely rewarding. From a personal standpoint. I know CereCore promotes helping our local community. One of the things I've been lucky enough to participate in is the Book'em Reading program in which we read to students at Haywood Elementary. I thought for me this would be something that would provide me an opportunity to give a positive impact on these Children's lives. What I didn't realize is that they would challenge me and make me step back to kind of look at situations in my professional career a little bit differently and for that, I appreciate it.
John Walsh: We are the link to life saving care because our team continually strives to help improve the way health care is delivered to end users, and to drive patient satisfaction to our clients.
