In 30 seconds or less, say your name, where in Florida you live, and how you’ve been impacted by high electricity bills.

Glennesha Crawford : My name is Glennesha Crawford I live in North Miami Beach, Florida. Since I've been living on my own, I've rapidly saw the increase and electricity bill and my electricity bill. Um I went from paying maybe around 60 to $70 just for electricity to now paying uh $350 - 360 into my electricity bill. I am currently living inside of a two bedroom apartment, small apartment where my light bill is literally through the roof. I've had to reach out to organizations to help me with my light bill as well as constantly having to pay a deposit whenever I move as well. Um No, it seems like no matter what I do to decrease my light bill, it doesn't work. I can go with all day with turning my ac off or I can limit the amount of TV S that's on and it has absolutely no impact on the amount that I have to pay monthly. Um It's getting to a point where it uh lights is becoming a major expense as opposed to just being a minor expense that I had to pay monthly. Um, it's becoming unbearable. Uh especially living in Florida where you don't really have that cha— that opportunity. Well, you don't really have the opportunity to just say, let's crack open a window and get air from outside because it's always hot.

What do you want to say to the utility corporations and Florida’s politicians who are responsible?

Glennesha Crawford : I honestly don't think it's fair how much we have to pay in order just to keep lights on inside of our households, it's becoming unbearable, it's becoming unbearable. And there is always an increase, there's always an increase, especially with me who I haven't changed much uh inside my house as far as how much energy is being used inside my household. But the amount that I'm paying has increased a lot if you compare my bill from last year to my bill this year and everything is still the same, the same amount of TV. S the same electronics, the same appliances, nothing changes. And I live in a very small apartment where energy is only being used at night and yet my bill is 300 something dollars. I really don't understand.
