How have high electricity bills impacted you? What are your concerns?
Noah Netko: My name is Dale Hutchison. I'm a law student here at Fiu College of Law. I moved to Miami Dade County last spring and when I began paying my electricity bill through FPL, I was paying around 70 to $80 a month. Over the course of the summer, I saw that increase to 100 $20 a month. I believe my average for the year was around $130 a month this year as we approach the end of summer is now 100 and $60 a month. And the hottest month of June and July paid upwards of $190 per month for a one bed apartment 1100 square feet. And I've noticed these increases have continued. Um, they must be stopped. Uh It's noticeable price gouging through FPL and they know that they're taking advantage of Miami Dade residents because we have no other option.
