Speaker: Georgia Richardson
Georgia Richardson: Hi, everyone. My name's Georgia and I'm a youth ambassador based in Tasmania. My cancer journey began when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of five and then underwent a surgery to remove as much as possible, followed by eight rounds of chemo to shrink the mass as much as we could.
Georgia Richardson: As corny as it sounds. The holiday season is truly one of my favorite times of year. It's one of the only times that my family get together from across the state and across the country. And we do a lot of traditions over Christmas. We go to the, our local Christmas parade or we're in the Christmas parade and we cook certain meals together and it's just a really great time. So, don't know about you guys, but I am holding out for Christmas.
Georgia Richardson: I have two things that I'm really looking forward to this Christmas season. One of them is the Christmas parade on Christmas Eve in my hometown. My family's actually a part of the organizing committee this year. But for as long as I can remember, I've had something to do with the parade, whether it's being on a float, helping build a friend's float or just going along to watch. And I just love how the whole town gets involved. So I'm really looking forward to seeing that Christmas cheer this year. The other thing I love about Christmas is my whole family coming together and sharing in food, which I know sounds silly. But when I can stand in the kitchen with my mum, my grandmother and my great grandmother, and we all talk about the food that they've made or shared or had somewhere and passed down recipes and learning from the people in my family. And I just love spending time with everyone from across the state and across the country. Cos Christmas is really one of the only times that we all come together. So I'm really looking forward to that this Christmas
