What’s your favourite part about studying at OCAD?

OK, so I won't lie. This course has been quite challenging for me, but I'd actually say that's one of the positives of the course, as the reason why I applied for a course in the first place is because, of course, I wanted to get my qualifications, but I wanted to improve my art in an environment that was more serious. And that's definitely what I got out of it. I learned some things that have just been total game changers for me. Like, for example, in the first few weeks of the course, they had us do this thing where, you hold your reference photo upside down or you cover it by bit by bit. That way, you're seeing what is actually there. instead of just imagining that you already know what the forms are and that really has helped in terms of my accuracy. In fact, I just apply that to basically everything now, and it's helped a lot. Well, as just like little tips and tricks like that, which I wouldn't have known about, I've also learned practical things like colour theory. now, I can blend my colours more effectively without the wasting so much paint, as well as learning the other basics of it that can apply to other creative fields that I'm interested in. we also did a lot in all sorts of different medias, which I wouldn't have done otherwise, because they have you try out different things like charcoal and paint, and materials that you use to build a sculpture. And although I haven't had, success with all the medias, it definitely was worthwhile trying them out. because I wouldn't have otherwise. And I definitely could see the different effects that I could use, which I wouldn't have considered before. And, overall, it's definitely improved my art skills a lot more. And I, I think I will have a better chance of, improving further due to the course. So thanks for listening
