What can participants expect from this training? Please describe the learning objectives and what the training experience will be like.
Pradeep Gidwani, MD, MPH, FAAP: Hello, I'm looking forward to our session together, which will be interactive and we'll explore culture. We'll have the opportunity to explore our own identities and how our culture, our personal culture is formed. And we'll also talk about the three levels of culture that influence you and can help you with working with families of different backgrounds. And we'll also talk about ways that we can decrease cultural barriers and increase our understanding and our communication of others. Again, this is an opportunity for us to explore and we will have lots of opportunities to reflect. You'll have opportunities within this training to take a look at these beliefs and these factors that influence our ability to connect and serve families. It also helps us in our own lives. It helps us to understand the people around us. And with this session, I hope we get to the place where we understand that we are greater than we are as individuals and that we really come towards this place of understanding how beautiful it is that we have this diversity within our communities and our world and how we can celebrate that. Look forward to seeing you.
