What beliefs or feelings did you have about birth before taking the Built To Birth Course?

so I think as far as beliefs and feelings about birth that I had before giving birth, um I am number 11 of 12 Children and my mom and dad had all of us, my mom birthed all 12 of us. Um she had all of us unmedicated, um She had 10 of us in the hospitals and um she had two home births um and I think I just, we are kind of a product of our environment, right? And I grew up just believing that that's what I would do, I would um have have my child unmedicated and I always wanted to do a home birth, so um for me, I I don't, I think that birth is beautiful and empowering and that no matter how a woman gives birth, it is, it is um praiseworthy and every woman is amazing um and everyone's going to want to do it a different way For me personally, I really wanted and really feel my, my beliefs about birth before taking the class was just, I felt like I wanted it to be a very sacred experience for my husband and I, I wanted um it to be what I always envisioned bringing a child into this world to be and and in my mind it just felt like it needed to be like I'm a very, I'm religious, I'm spiritual and I I believe that um you know God is close to us and that he is gifting you know this child to us and that he's very involved in the details of this process and and I just wanted, I wanted the challenge, um and I wanted it to happen as naturally, um and close to the way that God wanted it to be in when he created our bodies. And um so um I've always believed that I've always felt that and I've always felt like childbirth is just sacred and that my body was made to birth a baby. Um that that was my belief before taking the class.

How did the Built To Birth Course empower you to have a positive birth?

the bill to birth class empowered me and my husband in huge ways. I I don't think I I just don't think I ever knew um how powerful meditation and affirmations could be in the process um and also just in a huge way for my husband who was very nervous about our home birth and very nervous about um how it could go. Um Bridget just does such a good job of educating and over and over and over again as we took this class, we just we just kept saying this is so amazing, like I would I would pay over and over and over again to take this class because of how she empowers you to just know and to advocate for yourself whether you're in a birth center, whether you're at home, whether you're in a hospital, whether you're working with a midwife or an O. B. Um She prepares you for every scenario she really does and um she gives you tools whether you're wanting an epidural, whether you're not wanting an epidural or however or whether you don't know what you want at all. She, she lays it all out for you and and we just, my husband and I both just felt very empowered to make decisions and just to know exactly what we wanted and how to Deal with situations. We personally, we we planned for a home birth and we labored at home for 27 hours um and I used her her meditations, her affirmations in my ear the entire time most of the time um while I was birthing at home er laboring at home and we got to attend we got complete at home, I pushed for three hours at home and our little guy was in a posterior position and after pushing for three hours still would not come at home and our midwife felt it was necessary to go into the hospital. So we did and that was not what we wanted, that was not what we planned for. But um I think the the um Education that we gained in her class, it just helped us so much to know what to expect when we then went to the hospital and labored for another 10 hours and gave birth vaginally. We loved her course.
