Michael Arango: Hi, my name is Michael Arango. I'm a first ac, second AC and camera operator.
What camera/gear did you use for the training? Have you used this gear before?
Michael Arango: During this training, we use a Red Komodo, a Sony Marano and an re 35 as well as all the accessories that come with all the cameras and a Ronan Gimbal. I have not had the chance to use that gear before that training. So it was a very fun opportunity.
How would you summarize what was covered at the training to friend that didn't attend?
Michael Arango: During the training, they showed us how to assemble and operate all the cameras including the lenses and support accessories like cables and batteries, as well as assembling the wireless, follow focus and wireless monitor and how to properly mark out our follow focus system so that we can use it properly as the AC on set.
Any other specific feedback you have? on gear, organization, group size, time.
Would else would you want to learn?
Michael Arango: I think the gear was good and it was a nice selection for us to work with uh different types of equipment. I think the groups were a good size. They felt like you were still collaborating with people, but you had the opportunity to ask the instructor questions and get feedback as needed. I think that uh even though we did have enough time to work with all the cameras and all the equipment given there's always more time that you can spend working on equipment. And in the future, I would definitely want to go back to another workshop to get more in depth with all the camera systems and learn a little more about the differences between them and see more advanced rigs that are available.
