What was the problem you were experiencing when you came to us?

Michelle Fisher : When I first came to break through, I was obese. I was at a point in my life where I had weighed more than I had ever weighed before. My weight was negatively impacting my health. I couldn't go up the steps of my own home without getting short of breath. And I knew that it was time for me to do something. But I also knew that I couldn't do it on my own.

What have you tried in the past to solve it? Why didn’t that work?

Michelle Fisher : I tried several programs in the past to lose weight. Um, and also almost every fat diet that was out at the time. You name it. I've tried it, Jenny Craig Weight Watchers, intermittent Fasting. Um, the Master cleanse cabbage soup diet. I tried cutting calories. I tried at home exercise programs and, um, nothing seemed to work.

What results have you had working with us?

Michelle Fisher : Since joining breakthrough in October of 2022 I have lost 50 pounds. I feel better. My energy level has increased. My overall health has improved. In fact, I have stopped taking one of the medications that I was taking for my blood pressure. And the second medication the dose has been cut in half.

What was your experience like?

Michelle Fisher : My experience at breakthrough has been great. It was the best decision that I made for myself in 2022. And I get so much more than what I was looking for. When I came to breakthrough, I was looking for an exercise program. But what I found was a comprehensive program that allowed me to make significant lifestyle changes. At breakthrough, you get nutrition counseling, you get um group therapy, which they call warrior calls. But it's so much more than that, it helps you to explore things that you never even thought about. For example, I've always considered myself an emotional eater, but I never understood the reason behind it. I never understood that some of the things that I was doing was just because I had acquired bad habits and through breakthrough and through those warrior calls, I have learned how to break those bad habits. Um I've learned not to eat my emotions but to feel them. And so food now for me has become a means of nutrition and not a means of satisfying my emotions.

What would you say to anyone that might be on the fence about working with us?

Michelle Fisher : If I had to give advice to someone who wasn't sure that they wanted to join Breakthrough, I would tell them that it is the best decision that I've made for myself. You have nothing to lose. Of course, But weight, if that is your goal, the coaches are great, the community members are great. The support is phenomenal. The program is self paced. So there's no reason to be intimidated and everyone is working together towards a common goal and that is to get healthier. You will not regret joining breakthrough.
