Speaker: Kristen Kimes

What was the problem you were experiencing when you came to us?

Kristen Kimes: I was overweight. Um, I had gotten to the point that I just didn't feel good about myself. I picked up the weight over the last, you know, 10 years. Um, you know, due to life, stressful job, young child, um, and I didn't realize it as I put it on and then, you know, changed jobs and had a lot less stress and was able to focus a little more on myself. And I began to realize the amount of weight I had put on and I really just didn't like what I saw. I didn't like how I felt. So I had tried and tried and thought I could do it on my own, but I really struggled with my own personal accountability and I always failed. So, um, I saw the ad for breakthrough when I saw the ad I realized I need help. So that is kind of where I was at and how I came to breakthrough.

What have you tried in the past to solve it? Why didn’t that work?

Kristen Kimes: Um, so in my whole life throughout my whole life, um, I was an athlete and I was a college athlete and so I was always very fit and very athletic, um, as I got older and didn't do any activities really, um, to help myself. So I, you know, picked up the weight and throughout the years I, you know, tried different things. They were short lived maybe a month. Um, if I was lucky too, but I would just try and jump in, you know, start running and again or, um, you know, things like that and it's hard to get back into running if you haven't ran in a long time. Um, I would, you know, do things with my nutrition but they weren't really sustainable. Um, I've always had an interest in nutrition so I knew really, I needed to change my lifestyle but I always struggled with kind of how big that seemed and, you know, how to hone myself accountable and make it a sustainable activity for me.

What results have you had working with us?

Kristen Kimes: So my results, I breakthrough are kind of two fold. So you have the physical results, which, you know, ultimately is why you ultimately, you know, start a program and why I ultimately came to breakthrough was, you know, to lose weight, which I lost 55 pounds. Um I've lost a lot of inches, um, a lot stronger than I was. I actually didn't realize how weak I was. Um until I started going there and I just feel better. I have more energy. Um But for the other part, for me, which is the bigger part is the mental aspect that I've gotten from being a breakthrough. Um It's really changed my mindset in a way that it was a mindset that was really always there, but it was just overshadowed by, you know, the negative feelings. So, um for me, it was always easier to feel the negative feelings over the positive feelings and it really has helped me and how I view myself, how I feel about myself. Um which for me was the ultimate shift because feeling better about myself and the things I do and you know who I am as a person help me in really sustaining and holding myself accountable, which is something I always struggled with, um, on the physical aspect. So for me, it kind of goes hand in hand. Um, it's been much more than just, you know, workout nutrition program for me. So, um, yeah.

What was your experience like?

Kristen Kimes: So, um, my experience at breakthrough. So I laugh because I've never been a joiner, I've never joined a gym. Um, and I really didn't know if a gym would be a good fit for me. Um, so I was a little bit skeptical when I, when I met with Chris. Um, but I really wanted to make a change. So I just said what I have done hasn't worked. I'm gonna do this. I, at first was not really sure what to think. Um Everyone there is super nice. Um, when I had my first meeting with him and he was like, you know, we do this call, you do, we do biweekly check ins. And I was like, oh, what did I get myself into? So I said, well, you know what, I have gone this far, you know, paid the money, which is a big thing and I never paid money or anything to do a program for. So I said I'm gonna do this to its fullest. So I did, um, it, as the weeks went on, it just became a natural thing is what I did. So, um, and I have nothing but good things about my experience there. Um I enjoy working out with the people that I work out with and um I have gone to other classes and everyone's really welcoming there too. So, um you just always, always feel welcome at, at the gym. Um And there's always a sense of support. So, um whether it's through the app or a coach messaging you, um you know, or someone giving you a hard time because you didn't come to the workout, but the day before so, but, um, you know, it's all, you know, part of that accountability piece for me, which is what I needed. Um And it's been a different accountability, I guess, strategy. I don't, I don't know exactly the word to say that I've ever experienced before because all the accountability was just like you have to do this and this and this and this accountability. It's almost like they're coaching you. Um, they are coaching you to hold yourself accountable. Um, and all the steps along the way, you're basically just training yourself to hold yourself accountable. Um So really for me, my experience, I got out of exactly, um what I needed and it was way more than what I ever expected.

What would you say to anyone that might be on the fence about working with us?

302-730-1600

Kristen Kimes: So, for anyone that might be questioning, you know, if breakthrough is a good fit for them is I just, my advice to you would just be, you know, if you're at the point that you feel you're just fed up or just feel terrible about yourself and it's something that you really want to do. Um You know, for me, I could not have found a better place. Um Honestly, I just think for a breakthrough, um as any program, you're gonna get out of it, what you put in. Um So, you know, if you follow the steps and do the work and train yourself, um which it's a long process, it doesn't happen overnight and, you know, there's gonna be struggles along the way. Um But it works, whatever they've come up with that, it, it works like you gradually train yourself to be able to live a healthy lifestyle. And I think that's ultimately what you want to do. Um because you don't wanna, you know, do this program, lose all this weight and gain it back. That was actually a huge fear of mine. Um And I mean, it's just something that you learn to always have in the front of your mind. Um because it's creating daily habits that you just, you know, go about just the same as you create the bad daily habits that it for me got me where I was. So, um ultimately, I think it is a great place. Um And I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to really transform their life.
