What was the problem you were experiencing when you came to us?

Andrea Sierra: So I came to break through in November of last year as my blood pressure was high enough that I was put on meds and I was just gaining lots of weight and I couldn't fit in any of my clothes and I fell out of breath, going up and down the stairs, doing laundry and just running around with my kids and I knew something had to change. Um, and so I saw an ad for breakthrough and I called Chris.

What have you tried in the past to solve it? Why didn’t that work?

Andrea Sierra: What haven't? I tried in the past I've done all these diets, like weight watchers. Um, paleo diets, all kinds of diets. I've gone to the gym to do Zumba, like, 5-6 days a week. Um, worked out with trainers before doing just weight lifting. I've tried all kinds of stuff. None of it worked because none of it was a long term thing for me. It all was a moment in time. I did this and then I stopped and I did something else and none of it changed my habits and none of it changed my daily living of what I do to my body.

What results have you had working with us?

Andrea Sierra: The results I've had with breakthrough have been like almost 40 pounds of weight loss. Um, and that isn't even the most like important thing, even though I thought it was coming in not on my blood pressure medicine anymore. But realizing that it, it is habits, changing habits that I have built the wrong habits my whole life and it's going to take time and effort to change those habits now. And breakthrough has taught me that it's my mindset and it's all of things other than just the scale that I need to work on and that it's gonna take time and that I can't be super hard on myself if I make a mistake and that I have to continue to try to do small changes and build habits. And I just moved to Alaska and normally I'd be done now, I would have given up because it was not easy to stick to any habits, traveling for a month and living on the suitcases and not having anywhere to cook or try to maintain my diet. But I didn't give up. And it's because I have the support of a team through breakthrough

What was your experience like?

Andrea Sierra: My experience with breakthrough was, was like nothing I ever experienced before. Um, well, I never got up at 4 30 in the morning to go to a gym before and I never felt quite so much as part of a community as I did there. Um, that I knew if I didn't show up, people would wonder why and people would maybe message me and check on me and make sure I'm ok and that I have a group of people I can message if I'm struggling with food or with whatever, um, that would be there to support me and I never felt that way at any other gym or any other diet that I've done before. Um, and now that I'm not there, I know I still have people to message and I still have the support, even though I really miss the in person gym, that's not the most important part of the whole experience.

What would you say to anyone that might be on the fence about working with us?

Andrea Sierra: Um I would say, and I have said to people that are now in breakthrough to just give it a chance that it's hard to explain the community or the support that you get. And yes, it may seem pricey or seem like extreme to work out that early in the morning, but you don't get it until you try it and you realize that it's more than just a workout and it's a whole team in a community and in the breakthrough family is what I call it that you're getting out of it. Um And to just try it for six months, nine months or a year just to see if it fits for you.
