How has BossmakeHer changed your life?
Kolina Painter: BossmakeHer has changed my life by providing me significant emotional support during a very hard time in my career. And they also really helped rebuild my personal brand to match that of my career goals.
What part of the BossmakeHer program made the biggest difference for you, and why?
Kolina Painter: The part of the BossmakeHer program that really made the biggest difference for me, I would have to say would be the fellow ladies, a part of the program. You could be having the worst day at work personally and you hop on one of the calls and you just start connecting with these really impactful and engaging women that help pull you through and it could be helping to keep you motivated to get to the next step in the program. Or really just to tell you that this is a bad day and tomorrow is going to be better and here's how I know that. So yeah, I really say that the best part of the program was the other ladies that were going through the program as well.
What three words best describe BossmakeHer, and why?
Kolina Painter: The three words that best describe BossmakeHer is impactful, honest, and effective. Impactful because it really, in every conversation and every step of the program, there is really something to take away from it. And it could be different from person to person. It could be different from program to program, but it really, you could feel it, you could feel the impact of that. Honest. There were times in my process where I really needed just some honesty, you know, on where I was emotionally and mentally, and how to get over those hurdles to make sure that when I was ready to go to market and find my next position that I was ready, you know, I didn't have red flags because of any of the negative energy that I was sitting in every day. So honest, definitely. And effective. I was able to get a position by the end of my program. And without the tools and the resources that BossmakeHer provided, it wouldn't have been effective, I wouldn't be sitting in the position that I'm in today without BossmakeHer.
Based on your BMH experience, what advice would you give a friend who is navigating the job search process on her own?
Kolina Painter: My advice for somebody who's navigating a job search process on your own, the time, it takes significant time, mental and emotional energy, and really just giving yourself grace, you know, there's going to be more times than not that you're sitting across from somebody that you're just not a fit and they're not a fit for you and that's ok. But you just have to keep plugging away and keep going knowing that the right opportunity is going to present itself. And in my case, it was something very unexpected and it worked.
