Speaker: Madelaine

How has BossmakeHer changed your life?

Madelaine: Joining BossmakeHer completely changed how I approached my job search. Instead of chasing roles, I learned how to get intentional, strategic, and truly aligned with what I wanted next. The program didn't just help me land a job, it helped me land the right job, one that aligns with my strengths, interests, and the kind of culture where I can genuinely thrive. Beyond the strategy, the support from the coaches and the women in the cohort made a meaningful difference. I gained clarity, confidence, and the ability to communicate my value with intention while approaching interviews and networking as authentic conversations. I felt encouraged, challenged, and truly supported throughout the journey, and I'm incredibly grateful for the role BossmakeHer played in helping me land my position at Zyter.

What part of the BossmakeHer program made the biggest difference for you, and why?

Madelaine: The biggest difference for me was the clarity the program helped me build. Everything else flowed from that. So, getting crystal clear on what I wanted and what I wouldn't compromise on completely changed how I approached my search. From there, the intentional branding work helped me articulate my value with confidence, especially through the Q&Qs, quantitatives and qualitatives, which made my messaging feel aligned and compelling. I also loved the shift in how interviews and networking were framed, not as performances, but as real conversations focused on mutual fit and alignment, or how Jor said, they're meetings, treat it like a meeting. And finally, the guidance around negotiations was empowering. It reminded me that I had more agency than I realized and didn't need to undercut my worth. All of these pieces together gave me the confidence and clarity I needed to land the right role.

What three words best describe BossmakeHer, and why?

Madelaine: Mindset, intentionality, connection. BossmakeHer helped me shift my mindset in a way that changed how I showed up throughout my job search with clarity, confidence, and a stronger belief in my value. The program emphasized intentionality at every step, from defining what I wanted to how I positioned myself and made decisions along the way. But what truly set the experience apart was the focus on connection. Beyond the incredible support from the coaches and the women in the cohort, BMH reframed networking and interviews as opportunities to build genuine connection and assess mutual fit. It taught me to pay attention to alignment, energy, and culture, not just credentials. So I could evaluate whether a role and team were truly the right fit for me. That mindset shift made all the difference in landing a role that feels aligned, energizing, and sustainable.

Based on your BMH experience, what advice would you give a friend who is navigating the job search process on her own?

Madelaine: The biggest advice I'd give is this, don't rely on applications alone. In today's market, automation means resumes can easily get lost, so networking and strong LinkedIn branding are essential. But what I learned through BossmakeHer is that neither of those things work well, unless you first have clarity on who you are and what you actually want. Once you're clear on your strengths, goals, and values, everything else becomes easier. Your messaging feels more authentic, your networking feels more natural, and your confidence shows up in conversations. That clarity is what allows you to build a genuine brand and connect with people in a way that goes beyond transactional job searching. When you lead with intention and alignment, opportunities start to find you, not just the other way around.
