How has BossmakeHer changed your life?
Amy : BossmakeHer's really changed my life for the better. Prior to BossmakeHer, I would have thought I was confident that I was projecting myself professionally, that I had a great LinkedIn. My resume did a great job of explaining who I was, and boy, was I ever wrong. Making the changes that BossmakeHer helped me make has increased my confidence, increased my visibility, improved my resume significantly, and really improved my LinkedIn profile and my interactions and my network. I was able to secure a Market Vice President position where I'm going to be over 3 states by making the changes through BossmakeHer, and that's going to really help push my career in the trajectory that I'm hoping it to go.
What part of the BossmakeHer program made the biggest difference for you, and why?
Amy : The program that made the biggest difference for me was probably the LinkedIn, edits and help that I got, and the resume edits, and the internal networking with the other BossmakeHer ladies. Why? Well, LinkedIn changes made me more visible to other people. The resume. Is the way they do it and teach you to do it, it just, it's way, way better than anybody could ever have told me to do it. I would have thought I was crazy if I was going to make the changes that they said to make without doing it, but it speaks to what I've done better. It positions the information with the algorithms and things out there so you can actually get seen. A resume like I used to do years ago wasn't getting me seen. I was applying to lots of stuff. And then just the interaction with the other ladies, they're all, everybody's from different lines of business and, and companies, big, small, you know, entrepreneurial, fractional, you name it. And it really gives you an ability to talk to different people, see what's going on in different areas, and how you can pull that into where you work and what you do and how you're networking and trying to look for another job. I think it really helps.
What three words best describe BossmakeHer, and why?
Amy : BossmakeHer and why. Confidence builder, which is probably two words. Network, because they're going to help you increase your network. And Clarity, for me, it was, I was trying to boil the ocean and I thought I could do everything. And the clarity piece really helped me figure out and drill down into what I have done, what it was going to translate into, and what I wanted to do in the future. So those are the three words I would choose to describe BossmakeHer.
Based on your BMH experience, what advice would you give a friend who is navigating the job search process on her own?
Amy : The advice I would give a friend navigating the job process on her own would be, I know that it looks like BossmakeHer costs a lot, but I will tell you that for me and for many of the women that I've seen be successful with it, the cost is well worth it. You're going to make that money back and then some. And if you think about it, you're gonna make it back in the short term, and then if you push your career in the direction that you wanted to go, that's going to come back even more in the future.
