Video Transcript

Speaker: Peter Nixey

Who are you and what do you do?

Peter Nixey: I'm Peter Nixey. I'm a Boardwave member, the founder of personal productivity tool, intentional.io and a specialist in AI.

Tell us a bit about your career and AI expertise.

Peter Nixey: My career began doing a PHD in AI in the Oxford University Robotics Department. I then left that to go out to San Francisco where I built and exited my first start up um which was funded by Y Combinator doing A PHD, taught me just how difficult and um complex it was to commercialise and to build in AI. So I actually left it pretty much alone for the whole of the rest of my career until OpenAI released ChatGPT. Then within about a month of playing with that, I started to realize that it was going to change pretty much everything that was possible to build with software. So over the course of the last year, I've spent more and more of my time writing about AI, consulting with companies about how they can use AI and teaching people how to get the most out of it. My writing picked up over 4 million impressions last year. And while just while I was recording this video, I found out that LinkedIn is actually maybe a Top Voice in AI too

What do you hope attendees will get from this Masterclass series?

What will they be able to learn?

Peter Nixey: Every single company that I have been speaking with from multinational uh Silicon Valley technology companies through to UK brand name, charities, through to small start ups. And everybody in between has pretty much the same outset outlook right now, which is that they don't yet have a strategy for AI. They think that everybody else has sorted it out. They feel very self conscious that they have not and they'd like to figure out what they're supposed to do. So through the course of working with companies, helping them activate more of their team into using Chat GPT and helping them build entirely new products. I've learned a few things about where the greatest points of leverage are for AI in a company. Um and spoiler alert the um the fastest way for AI to enter companies right now is by buying products that are powered by AI. Um And the second fast this way is by building an entirely new product based on it, but doing that's not super straightforward. So what I hope people are gonna get from this is a better understanding of how to think about where AI can practically make a difference. Um And where it's worth them, given their own personal circumstances, investing time in applying it.

Peter Nixey: If you're interested in doing this course, it'll be a delight to meet you and to host you and I hope you get a chance to sign up.
