Speaker: Kenya Kilpatrick MMFT, NCC
Can you describe how Blueprint has helped you? The more specific the better!
Kenya Kilpatrick MMFT, NCC: How has Blueprint helped me? Um, I come from a time where my self-care habits and spending time with my family, um, were nonexistent because I um worked two jobs and. I needed to take time to plan sessions and write session notes and do things outside of my um therapy sessions and I have found with Blue Note, I'm sorry, Blueprint I am able to um take that time that I've saved on um putting together a session note after a session. And you know, spend that time with my family or take some time out for myself. I've also found that blueprint um is so detailed in their notes like things that. After the session that you know that would just fly right by me it would catch and I it would it would give me that aha moment of yes like there it is so um I am so thankful and grateful for Blueprint and excited about being able to um give my clients um optimum attention because I don't have to spend time taking my own notes.
How much time have you saved on documentation as a result of Blueprint? Have you re-invested this newfound time into anything notable?
Kenya Kilpatrick MMFT, NCC: Blueprint has cut my documentation time. At least in half. It has Really giving me so much of my time back um self-care is so important for therapists um because we definitely need to be able to invest that time and releasing and you know, getting ourselves um to the highest um. Point of good mental health we can get. So I have reinvested that time into utilizing um self care, self-care skills that I've taught many of my clients. I've used that time to take some time for me, take some time for my family, laugh, um. Work on, you know, myself so that when I go into sessions I'm coming as a 100% I'm coming in at 100% and not depleted because I have spent so much time, um, doing, you know, things that have been done for me um by blueprint.
How do you describe Blueprint to clients when it comes to obtaining consent? How do clients react?
Kenya Kilpatrick MMFT, NCC: As I'm explaining to my clients that I'm now utilizing um a HIPAA compliant um documentation system uh by the name of Blueprint, I simply let them know that this is an opportunity for me to spend more time um working with them, um, and joining with them and not, you know, having to go back and have them reiterate something that they've said or reexplained. Um, and you know I always give them the option to decline. I always give them the option to, you know, say whether or not they are in or not, um, but I, I, but I do tell them it's like any other, uh. Medical record situation that strives to keep your information secure and confidential and I leave the option open to them but I haven't had any clients react. As if they did not they were not in agreeance they didn't wanna sign um most of them want to to do get well they want to have good relationships with their families and they wanna they they just wanna do what it takes to get to that level and if. They are able to spend more time just talking about what it is and doing the activities and finding ways to improve in those areas than they are all in.
