Speaker: Brooke McKenzie, LCSW
Can you describe how Blueprint has helped you? The more specific the better!
Brooke McKenzie, LCSW: Hi. I am a therapist and I have been seeing clients around my full-time job in the evenings, and I started to use Blueprint AI to help cut down the time that it takes to do a note, but also to help to really have comprehensive notes that are encompassing all of the session, the details that maybe I missed till the end of the session that would otherwise be included in the AI note, as well as um to be able to look at The overview of the, the topics of the session and what I could say differently or add to the next session. I haven't really played around with the treatment planning component or the homework assignment until the last couple of weeks, but I feel like that has been able to add a whole new dimension to, um, my work as well. We utilizing the notes from the past, now that I have a few notes under my belt for each of my clients, they can say, um, here's some. Suggestions in regards to some of the conversations that we've been having or the interventions that I've been using, some supportive, um, exercises as well to help A, give them the handout themselves to be able to utilize or be, even just steer me in a direction that I, I maybe, again, wouldn't have thought of otherwise. It helps to take that step back and review the more detailed perspectives of the note and to, and more than one time, there have been things that have come up in the note through blueprint that I had forgotten about that was even discussed or said, that really was a key point that I wanted to start with the next session or expand upon as far as the treatment planning options go. Um, so not only has it been very helpful to me and not having to remember all the details and take, um, extensive notes or to be able to regurgitate what the conversation was that I had and save time, it's been really helpful to expand the therapeutic techniques that I utilize, um, to help build a more comprehensive and robust treatment plan and to um engage with my clients more meaningfully, more dedicated, more. Um, directly one on one to be able to be with them as they're talking versus the, you know, trying to take notes, um, during their sessions. And I feel like that has really been a game changer for me, um. Blueprint has been very good and useful. It's been easy to use. I feel like I have downloaded the Um, extension on my Google Chrome. And so I start the session and I can record it um easy and almost always does it work perfectly. Every now and then I'll have a hiccup with the earphones, but most of the time it's working perfectly. And, um, at the end of the session, I have a beautifully written note. Um, the magic edit has been great, where I can go back in and say, add more about this, or combine this and this, or, um, expand on this. Intervention. And it has been super easy to add those things back in and really quick for it to process and come up with it in an even more comprehensive note when that's necessary. That's really necessary, probably in less than 10% of the, of the cases. Do I utilize that. Um, but if I need to, or in situations where I needed to, it has been very beneficial and, um, helpful for me to save time, energy, and to have more thorough documentation.
How much time have you saved on documentation as a result of Blueprint? Have you re-invested this newfound time into anything notable?
Brooke McKenzie, LCSW: I have saved so much time as a result of using blueprint on documentation, both in the actual note itself, but also in future interventions, treatment planning, and homework assignments for clients. I have not reinvested that time into work, but had that time reflected back in my personal time to be able to um spend that time with family and um maybe do some um reading to build up more technique for the clients that I see the next day. I see clients around my full-time job in the evenings and on the weekends. Um, and so completion of documentation in an easy and timely manner has been very important to me so that I'm not wasting precious free time. And the blueprint AI has been very beneficial in, in saving me that time and helping me to future plan for my next sessions.
How do you describe Blueprint to clients when it comes to obtaining consent? How do clients react?
Brooke McKenzie, LCSW: When I'm talking with clients about um utilizing blueprint for the sessions, I discussed with them that I have a device that wants to record the session that will help to type a more efficient note and effective note so that I can concentrate fully on what they're saying and engage with them meaningfully during the session, and that the content of the note gets deleted. The only thing that's saved is the um overview of the note um with The least amount of PHI. Necessary, and they are always happy to um allow the consent to take place and to um allow me to utilize blueprint to um engage with them more actively in the session.
