Frederic Buschgens, Senior Technology Team Leader ‘Shared Architecture’ at BICS

Frederic Buschgens: Hi, I'm Frederic Buschgens. In BICS I'm leading the Shared Architecture team and Architecture circle. In this role it is key to anticipate technological trends to design innovative solutions and align technology strategies with our business goals. This ensures sustainable and adaptable systems that will meet the future challenges of our organization.

Why hyperautomation matters?

Frederic Buschgens: Let me first explain, in a few words, what is hyperautomation. Hyperautomation is the process of combining artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation technologies to orchestrate various tasks, processes, and workflows. By automating repetitive tasks and optimizing processes, hyperautomation will reduce the time and effort required to complete them, leading to higher overall efficiency and productivity.

Organizations and hyperautomation

Frederic Buschgens: Hyperautomation will have a profound effect on businesses, transforming the way we operate and enhancing our overall efficiency and competitiveness. For example, hyperautomation can streamline the customer onboarding process by combining provisioning of multiple systems, some of which are highly manual into one smooth and automated journey. This will improve the customer experience and also reduce the strain on operations. As well as increasing customer satisfaction, hyperautomation will reduce human error, save cost, and enable enterprises to scale with minimal effort. But if the adoption of hyperautomation is to be successful, it'll need to strike a balance between automation and human collaboration. In particular, internal buy-in will be key, which means that data privacy and job displacement concern will have to be addressed as a priority. The key to making sure organizations successfully embrace the potential of hyperautomation will be: aligning the automation strategy with the organization's goals, ensuring proper skills, tooling, planning, and implementation, and continuously assessing and refining the automation initiatives for maximum impact.
