How have donations from the Giving Machine been used at Baby Bundles this year?
Hello, we're here with a midyear update on how the funds from the giving machine have helped us here at baby bundles. I'm here with Amy. Amy. Do you want to share a little bit about the purchasing? We've been able to do with the funds received? Absolutely. We've been so fortunate this year. We have spent nearly half the donation this year thus far and we've been able to purchase over 6000 receiving blankets which fills up our 3000 bundles for the year. In addition, we've been able to um, purchase over 1600 toys, which will go into a little over half of our bundles for the year. Awesome.
Can you share about an event where donations are being sorted and distributed?
I'd love to share a time when we had, um, volunteers come help unpack all of our receiving blankets. We received the shipment. One morning, volunteers came, they helped me unpack the boxes, fold everything, count everything into inventory. It was great. And then they actually had the opportunity to make, help us put together bundles which those blankets went into. And that day we had a partner come pick up bundles. So it was a really exciting day to watch this great donation come through our door into inventory into bundles and then right out the door into our partner's hands. Yeah, I think it really speaks to kind of the impact of the giving machines. It's a lot of individuals coming together and we carry that through in our work. So we fill up our warehouse every day with individuals who want to come and be a part of this and then the individuals who we partner with to distribute them. It's just kind of this collective impact we're able to create. That was a great day.
Can you share a story about a special mom or family that has received a bundle recently?
Yes, I would love to share a little bit about one of the moms that we were able to support with the donations from the giving machine. This year, we partner with the Latin American Coalition to distribute some of our bundles each year. And this woman received her bundle from them and she reached out to us afterwards and said she wanted to share a little bit more about herself and her baby. We don't hear from all of the moms that we get to support, but we do hear from some and we feel like her comments really summarized what we hope the bundle means to different families here in Charlotte. So she wrote from the bottom of my heart. I share this with you because despite being a professional and a teacher by vocation as migrants, we don't have any insurance or knowledge of the health care system. However, as a mother, I want to knock on every door, especially those of empathetic people to do whatever it takes for my baby. Thank you so much for reading my message. I hope I've been able to clarify who I am and why I came to know about your wonderful project. So we just wanna reiterate our gratitude to all of the giving machine for making stories like Diana's possible and also continuing to support baby bundles in our projected growth. Thanks. Thank you.
