Tell us about your experience taking courses with AudiologyOnline.
John Rietcheck: Hi, my name is John Rietcheck, and I'm a semi-retired audiologist who spent nearly 30 years in the VA system. Despite being semi-retired, I'm still very much interested in keeping up with the innovations in patient-centered care as well as technological advances. My experience taking courses with AudiologyOnline is that of thorough enjoyment. I didn't feel as if there were any major obstacles to learning compared to attending in-person courses. The only thing that perhaps would be slightly better attending an in-person course would be the ability to feel a greater connection with the speakers. But all in all, the experience online was absolutely amazing.
Why did you register for courses in the 2023 Industry Innovations Summit?
John Rietcheck: I registered for courses in the 2023 Industry Innovations Summit because they covered a wide range of timely topics, specifically individualized patient care. Represented were four major hearing aid companies, one CI company, a real ear measurement company, a finance company, and a phone captioning service. Most of the featured companies are now using AI particularly for their patient apps to improve the experience of hearing aid users in all types of listening situations. The innovations with CIs, real ear measurement, hearing aid financing, and phone captioning were all very interesting to me, and I learned a great deal from this Summit. I'm looking forward to next year's.
Do you plan to participate in courses during the 2024 Industry Innovations Summit?
John Rietcheck: I definitely plan to take courses from the 2024 Industry Innovation Summit because this year I learned so much and it's been able to keep me abreast of technological advances and changes in the hearing industry. I'm so much looking forward to that. I'm sure there's a lot more I can learn.
