Speaker: Nicole, Boston 4 Years

Describe how 5 (five) years without a raise or improvements in our contract have affected you personally.

Nicole: Hi, I'm Nicole. I'm an American Airlines. Boston based flight attendant and I've been flying since 2019 as a flight attendant, we are required to complete a lot of duties that are completely unpaid. Let me read you them from our manual. Arrive at least one hour before departure, unpaid, check all emergency equipment unpaid, participate in crew briefings, unpaid update our in flight manual daily and review flight details with the customer information. Each flight unpaid, welcome and assist customers with seat assignments. Carry on stowage during boarding, unpaid serve beverages to first class customers unpaid, conduct the safety briefings at emergency exits, unpaid and check on board, dining and catering supplies. Unpaid for me personally. In 2023 I completed 200 boardings and spent 67 hours on delays. All unpaid. I'm required by law to remain on board an aircraft with passengers per the FAA by law because I'm responsible for their safety during that time. If there was an emergency, I'd be required for evacuating them off that plane unpaid. This will simply not work for us anymore. American Airlines makes billions of dollars in profits and gives out plenty of executive bonuses we deserve an industry leading contract now.
