Speaker: Kai, Philadelphia 5 Years
Describe how 5 (five) years without a raise or improvements in our contract have affected you personally.
Kai: My name is Kai. I'm a Philadelphia-based flight attendant. I've been at this airline for five years. When you come in as a new hire flight attendant. You know, and you are informed that there's going to be expectations that you live in the city that you're based in. That's fine. You know, there's going to be compromises probably, you know, in the first year. Well, on straight reserve, you're gonna have roommates, you're going to compromise on expenses, all that stuff. Ok. Sorry, about five years into the program. Why do I feel post-COVID that now I'm worse off financially than I was when I started. I haven't had a proper wage increase to accommodate for cost of living. Uh, it's gone up over 22% since 2018. It's absurd. And for our leaders to be giving themselves multi-million dollar bonuses while the rest of us can honestly not even afford to live without roommates. Uh, I think it's unfair and it's unacceptable. We need a contract.
