Speaker: Matt Kozak, Loan Originator- VP Midwest
Please introduce yourself. Include your name, title, and general responsibilities.
Matt Kozak: Hello, my name is Matt Kozak and I'm a loan officer with asset based lending in Chicago. Some of my key responsibilities within the company are to provide good quality loans for the company. Also to help real estate investors scale their business, which in turn will help improve neighborhoods throughout the United States.
How would you describe the culture at ABL? Feel free to include a story/example of seeing the culture in action.
Matt Kozak: The culture at ABL is wonderful. Everyone here has the same agenda. We're all here to make good loans, help each other and have fun. That's it. Real simple. No secret sauce there. It's really refreshing to be part of an organization where everyone's listening to each other, helping each other. And more importantly, it shows where everyone likes and loves being here. So it's a great place. Great culture. Can't say enough about it.
What is the training process like at ABL? How does it prepare you for success?
Matt Kozak: The training process at ABL is great. It's well done and it's well run and it's not 100% classroom based where you get guidelines, you need to study, take quizzes and take tests. It's not like that. It's very interactive. It's very engaging. We do a lot of role playing. The seasoned veteran LO's take time out of their busy schedule to role play, go over scenarios, situations that might come across or come our way via investors. And so they really set us up for success to handle situations and really push and sell the ABL way. So it's really great. Can't say enough about it. And they do a great job of putting us, getting us ready to get out in the field and make good loans.
How does ABL operate differently than other lenders you've worked for in the past?
Matt Kozak: ABL operates a lot differently than other lenders out there today. Simply put- a lot less red tape. We strive and focus on speed and efficiency. We streamline our processes to make it easy for investors to do business with us. Our goal is to help investors scale. So what that means is we want to have a true partnership with our investors. I want them, we want them, to walk around knowing that they've got a lender in their back pocket that's got their back again. A really true partnership.
How does ABL enable their originators to succeed?
Matt Kozak: ABL does a great job helping its originator succeed. One of those main reasons is the training. They really set us up to not fail. They set us up for success by giving us the proper training to learn the ABL way. Another reason is communication. We have access to upper management, even the CEO and the underwriters for questions and answers. Also, they provide a lead service. They provide great leads for all originators to really help boost their pipeline and their business. So it's, it's really a no-brainer at ABL when it comes to them helping us succeed.
