Speaker: Dr. Maureen Hayes

Dr. Maureen Hayes: As we age, our skin loses a lot of its, its elasticity and some of the structural proteins to help to keep it kind of taut and plump and full. It also thins out and becomes a lot more fragile. So, in older people, you may notice that they tear their skin more easily, um have a lot more bruises, damage to the skin. And um one of the things that we can do is keep our skin well hydrated. Um we can protect it from the sun and the damaging rays of the, the UV rays of the sun. Um and also make sure that we're staying hydrated internally by drinking a lot of, of clean fresh water and also um by using different products on our skin that are healthy and clean. It's very important to look at the ingredients that are in your skin care because you absorb things through your skin. So you want, you know, you want them to be as clean as anything that you would put in your mouth really. And so look at, at what's in your skin care. You know, you pay a price to, to be beautiful, but there's nothing as beautiful as being healthy and having healthy skin.
