Tell us a little bit about yourself
Robert : Hi. My name is Robert Duke. I have COPD. I've had it for about 20 years and I had to stop smoking because of it. And now I have to wear this oxygen tube because of it. So my advice to anybody please don't smoke.
Tell us about your diagnosis
Robert : Found out I had COPD about 20 years ago and doctor told me I couldn't work anymore because it was too hard on me trying to breathe and work at the same time. So it's not very good if you smoke, I advise anybody not to smoke. And the doctor told me one time that is gonna kill me.
How has your life changed since your diagnosis?
Robert : My life has changed quite a bit since my last, with my diagnosis of emphysema. It's not very much fun anymore. Not like it used to be where you could play with your grandkids or take them fishing. I came up from walks without having to use a walker or your oxygen tank. It's not very good. You can't even help your friends anymore. Like you used to be able to, half the time you can't even take your wife for a walk anymore because of your emphysema. So, whenever I say, don't start smoking and keep your health as healthy as you can. Mm.
How has Best Care impacted your life?
Robert : And we're gonna talk about Best Care impacts on my life today. Well, they've been very supportive of me and they've helped me in so many ways to keep me going and you know exactly what to do or what to say when you need your help. Do you have a message for others about the Best Care program?
Robert : I think the politicians should start with this Best Care program and keep it going. It does help people like me and others. So if you wanna keep it going, just talk to your politician about it. Thank you. That's all.
