Tell us a little bit about yourself
Renee : Hi, I'm Renee. I'm 41. I live in Chatham Kent. I've been dealing with asthma since I was a child. Put your friends away.
Tell us about your diagnosis
Renee : I was diagnosed with asthma in my early teens. I was not very symptomatic but enough to have a diagnosis. Going into my mid adulthood, obviously, it became worse. I became a smoker, Working in health care, I guess COVID hit, I then got COVID and my asthma flared up to a point that I've never had before.
How has your life changed since your diagnosis?
Renee : I have dealt with a multitude of symptoms, from extreme with pneumonia, unable to move or breathe to just minor on extreme exertion. But I found like with treatment and progress in the disease, it sometimes got worse and then I needed more extreme treatment and more appointments and difficulties to go with it.
How has Best Care impacted your life?
Renee : Best Care has impacted my life in an immense way. Before coming here, I was struggling. I was suffering just having like basic medications like Ventolin, and Flovent, which weren't working for me. Since coming on a regular basis, I've been put on medications that work. My symptoms are better managed, not perfect, but definitely to a point where I don't feel ill.
Do you have a message for others about the Best Care program?
Renee : I would definitely recommend this program to anybody with asthma or respiratory diseases. It has made a big difference. They are knowledgeable, they're personable and very accommodating. So I would recommend it to anybody.
