Tell us a little bit about yourself
Yeah, hi. This, my name is Ron. I have COPD and I've got good people working with me. I do ahead of trucking business and I've done welding and farming, mechanic work and a lot of different things.
Tell us about your diagnosis
I've realized in 2005 through a, a walk in clinic doctor that I had COPD. But I was really bad. I could not breathe. I didn't think I was gonna make it. But that's when it showed up, you know, we just after that, from that point on it was to find out what to do, who to deal with the doctors. Then I went to the hospital a few times. They, they flushed my lungs. I just couldn't breathe. So I was just, I was down and out at times and then I got more and,
How has your life changed since your diagnosis?
Ok. And now, now my time with the COPD and my, my, lifestyle or whatever is much better, much better than it was. I got good doctors, good people working with me. And, the hospital helps a lot because you're coming up with, different medications or finding out more about this and my, way of life is better than it has been for years. But there are some things I just can't do. I can't, can't walk as far and I can't strain as much, but I'm getting older. I'm 77 years old. I don't want to admit it, you know.
How has Best Care impacted your life?
Best Care educator that I have. She's very, very good. We work together on stuff and I'm following her advice and her guidance on it and it's, it's helping breathing, how to breathe, understanding what you can do and what you can't do. I got a breathing device that I'm gonna use. Now, this is something new, I think. I don't know. It, it's new to me anyhow. So that's what I'm working with. She's very good at and a doctor.
Do you have a message for others about the Best Care program?
In my opinion, I've gone this far with this and I'm gonna put a message out to other people there. The COPD with Best Care is the best way to go because they know, they work with the doctors, and they build all worked on this area. They got a lot of information on it and can help you. And other doctors that don't have Best Care, they should be looking into it so that our politicians can help out everybody. That's what we pay taxes for. Got you.
