Tell us a little bit about yourself

Ada : Hello, my name is Ada Harris. I live in Kitchener Ontario and I will be 82 years old in April. I have, had, COPD for approximately four years, maybe five since I was diagnosed.

Ada : I, I walk, I babysit, I cook a lot. I have a lot of interest so I'm busy all the time and, I am, I'm happy to, happy to help other people.

Tell us about your diagnosis

Ada : I, I was diagnosed, about four or five years ago. My doctor sent me to the boardwalk in Kitchener to have my breathing because I was having a lot of coughing spells and, I was sick a lot that winter. So I, they diagnosed me with COPD.

How has your life changed since your diagnosis?

Ada : Well, how did my life change since I've had it? When, since I've been diagnosed I've been on a puffer and if I use my puffer, regularly and now I'm on which one, since I started trilogy I'm not having any problems. I take it once in the morning and it works and I'm not, so far, this year I haven't had any, problems with my, coughing and that I've just kind of been ok, so far I find the trilogy really helped me more so than the other puffers I used.

How has Best Care impacted your life?

Ada : Yeah, I have been seeing a, the, respiratory therapist, for the last couple of years and I find it's really helped me because it gives me a, a better idea of how I'm using the equipment and how my breathing is. I, I meet with her twice a year and that's been working very well and it just gives me more information of how to use my puffers and, and what I can do to help myself.

Do you have a message for others about the Best Care program?

Ada : I think it's an excellent program. I am very fortunate. I don't have a really bad case of it, but I do have enough that, uh I've learned a lot from coming here.
