Speaker: Mike Perkins, Vice President of Sales, Arcules
Mike Perkins: Hi, I'm Mike Perkins. I'm the Vice President of Sales here at Arcules.
How long you've been attending ISC West?
Mike Perkins: This will be my seventh year attending ISC West.
What are you most excited about at ISC West this year?
Mike Perkins: Yeah, I'm really looking forward to going to ISC West. It's the marquee event of our industry. It's a chance to connect again with our customers and learn from them and listen to them, a chance to collaborate with our friends in the industry. We put together an excellent lineup of panel discussions that I think will spark thought and generate ideas on how we can move our industry forward. And I look forward to being part of that conversation all week long.
What is included in your ISC West survivor kit?
Mike Perkins: Survival kit. Shoes are important. I've got a couple pair that are trade show certified if you will and that will keep me going all day long. For all the activities and events that we have going at the booth and the different appointments. Battery pack is going to be important to keep my devices charged as they drain throughout the day and keeping a bottle of water nearby is pretty important too.
How can attendees make the most out of ISC West this year?
Mike Perkins: I would say come to ISC West with a sense of curiosity, walk through the doors, asking questions, even the tough questions, the questions that help you understand what's happening. Change is happening at a rapid pace in our industry. Technology is driving that and there's a lot of data that you'll be able to find, to help make good decisions for your assignment back at your company. So be part of the conversation, engage with the different organizations and customers and suppliers that are there. And I think you'll get the most out of ISC West.
What is one word you would use to describe ISCW?
Mike Perkins: Inspirational.
Why should people attend ISC West?
Mike Perkins: Yeah, why should you attend ISC West? I think there's two major reasons. One is the show represents the current technology and the future state of where we're going in the industry. And it gives you a chance to get hands on experience to have your questions answered to be in a discussion so you can make the proper decisions for your company. The second thing is I think is the people the collaboration with suppliers, the collaboration with integrators and end users. There's a chance for you to understand best practices and to think out loud with folks. And I think being part of that conversation is very valuable.
