Speaker: Apisai, British Army

When did you first hear about Serve and Protect Credit Union and why did you join?

Apisai: Hiya. The first time I heard about the credit union is from one of my best rugby coach. And we both serve in the Army. And it is an honour to be part of this great service, credit union. It helps a lot in terms of a certain, and when you face something like, it's really urgent. And when I joined the credit union, it's a really, really fast process and it suits me a lot.

How has the credit union helped you?

Apisai: Yeah, absolutely. 100%. This credit union helps me a lot. It's helped me a lot. I was, last year, I was the first year joining, and I faced a lot of difficulties in terms of finance. And I have not enough budget in my account. And I wanna go home back to Fiji, to attend my daughter's birthday. When she turned... I never met her. Since the day she birthed and I never met her. Her mom was pregnant when I left Fiji came over to the UK to join the Army, and it was a hard time back then. You know, Covid and everything was shut down. Even the airport and I managed to go back home last year. Without the help of the credit union I couldn't make it because my budget was really low. And when I get introduced from my best friend, we both serve in the Army and the credit union was there, and it helps me a lot. The process, it's so good, like the servers. It it just spot on and I don't have many words to thank you a lot for your service and for your kind. And it's helped me a lot. I can't put into it how, how really helpful these credit unions are.

What is the best thing about being part of the credit union?

Apisai: Yeah, the best thing about being part of the credit union is is that like I said, in terms of, you're running low budget. It also comes across some some charity things and you need to donate. And also like promotions going on. And I like for me, it's really special for me. It's really doing, they have done a great job for me last year. Like I said from the second question. I never met my daughter, for like two years, three years from the day she born. I was away from Fiji when her mom was pregnant. And I'm here today in the Army and, you know, back then, life, and we really struggle and last year was the plan to give a surprise birthday and, yeah, a bit hard time last year. I need my car, I need a MOT and stuff like that. A little bit going on. And when I get introduced to credit union, it's like, for me, it is, it is like, the solution to my problem. It helped me a lot, and I'm really grateful and, I'm really happy to be part of this, great, credit union thing. And, I really salute all the hard working staff for being, like every time I give a call every time you send an email, they are there for me. I like, you know, the tone of their voice is just give me a smile on my face. And I can tell like I I'll go to Fiji. And the last day they call me like everything had been approved and the money had been processed into it will be into your bank account. I'm just like, just out of what, I really thank them. And yeah, that's the great thing about being part of the credit union. And they said, like, you can top up a loan after a year or something, and I'm really grateful. And it's the best thing to be part of this, this credit union, is that it it is just a solution to my problem. And I'm just really grateful. And I'm very thankful to your service. Yeah,
