Describe how 5 (five) years without a raise or improvements in our contract have affected you personally.
kayla: I want to start by saying that when I began this career seven years ago, I genuinely felt like I had found the dream job so much so that I recruited several friends to come along on what felt like too good to be true of a journey. Now, it turns out it may have been too good to be true and I genuinely feel guilty for convincing them to come fly because we are all struggling to make ends meet and contemplating career changes. Following furlough, I was displaced to Dallas and decided to stay based in Dallas because it was one of our two most inexpensive base cities. However, I still qualify for government subsidized housing and that's what I live in because I do not financially qualify to live anywhere else. Really. In Dallas, I fly 85 hours and rent still consumes over half of my paycheck. I think even more than the financial strain. My mental health has been severely affected until a few years ago. I had never experienced any sort of anxiety and I am now on the verge of a panic attack nearly daily. I feel like many of us have been in survival mode for several years and it is physically emotionally and mentally exhausting. We carried this company through a global pandemic, risking our lives now to be at record profits. But the company still doesn't feel that we deserve a livable wage or fair work rules.
