Speaker: Josh Pearre, Student; Optimism

Your Name, what brought you to Regis?

Josh Pearre: Uh, my name is Josh Pearre, and what brought me to Regis was the high academic expectations, and the opportunity to have like a one-on-one with the teacher, which just allows for a, like, better learning experience.

Chose a word to describe yourself. (e.g., innovator, leader, immigrant, etc.) Why did you choose this word?

Josh Pearre: A word that I would use to describe myself would be optimism. Um, I like to have like a positive outlook on life. Like, things will always get thrown in your direction in like a negative way, and it's like, always about how you respond to it. Um, if you're thinking negatively, it kinda, like, inhibits your productivity, and I like to be a productive person, and whatever I can do, I gotta stay optimistic about it.

How does that word fit with your experience at Anderson College of Business and Computing?

Josh Pearre: So how optimism fits with my experience and my computer science major, um, like a lot of the assignments, they take a lot of time, and you might get frustrated with it, like you might get stuck or feel like you're at a roadblock, and staying optimistic allows you to have that patience and like the, the drive to keep trying to like, figure out the problem, and then once you actually figure out the problem it's, it's really satisfying.
