Speaker: Diego Berumen, Student; Hard-Working

Your Name, what brought you to Regis?

Diego Berumen: Uh, so my name is Diego Berumen, and, uh, what brought me here to Regis was the opportunity to play on the men's soccer team here. Um, I knew coming out of high school that I wanted to play soccer at a high level and Regis gave me that opportunity, so I took it.

Chose a word to describe yourself. (e.g., innovator, leader, immigrant, etc.) Why did you choose this word?

Diego Berumen: Um, I guess the word I would choose to describe myself would probably be, uh, hard-working. Um, the reason for this being, is I feel like no matter what, um, you know, no matter what someone tells me to do, or, or what the situation is, that, um, I'm always gonna give it 100 percent, and I'm always just, you know, just gonna put my head down and work, um, no matter what it is, and just, you know, give it my all, um, no matter what the circumstances may be. So, yeah.

How does that word fit with your experience at Anderson College of Business and Computing?

Diego Berumen: I feel like that word fits really well with my experience here at the, um, the College of Business and Computing. Um, you know, I'm majoring in computer science, um, and so, I feel, like, and especially, like, I had, I didn't have much experience with like programming languages coming into, like, the university. Um, and so, I kind of took intro to programming and that was a really hard class for me, um, you know, it's just something I've never done before. So, uh, a lot, I had to put in a lot of work in order to, you know, really learn all the stuff that was in that class and just kind of, you know, continue to wanting to pursue it as a career. Um, so I think, like, that really, that word hard-working, really demonstrates that all the, all the work that I had to put in, with all the assignments and just learning things on my own, as well, outside of class, um, just to kind of catch up to a bunch of people here. Um, so, yeah.
