Speaker: Cadence Fisher, Student; Driven

Your Name, what brought you to Regis?

Cadence Fisher: Hi, my name is Cadence and I'm a sophomore at Regis University, and initially I was drawn to Regis because of the soccer program and the team and the people that went here, and I have grown to appreciate the liberal arts education, as well as the Jesuit values of the school. And, um, the area, which is close to a lot of things in Denver.

Chose a word to describe yourself. (e.g., innovator, leader, immigrant, etc.) Why did you choose this word?

Cadence Fisher: The word I'm using to describe myself is driven, and I think this can apply to many different aspects of my life such as through soccer, pursuing to get better every day, and also just to play at the collegiate level in general. And this also just applies to other areas, being able to stay motivated to complete different things in life, and also pursue a degree in something that I am passionate about.

How does that word fit with your experience at Anderson College of Business and Computing?

Cadence Fisher: The word driven applies well to the Anderson College of Business and Computer Science, because it essentially entails a sort of motivation to do more than what is expected. And for example, if people are just taking the required courses, maybe going through the motions, not enjoying themselves, um, they won't get the same experience as they will if they are driven and they're motivated to take courses that they are interested in, really learn from each of their classes and take away as much as they possibly can in order to better equip them for their future career. And being driven in general is, I think what the College of Business and Computer Science stands for, as to like trying to find a really good internship while you're in college and prepare you with a degree to find a career afterwards.
