Welcome to the Love Your Heart loop. We're so glad you're here. My name is Amy VanKleunen and I'm one of the nominees for Woman of Impact in Blair County. When I was asked to take on this role, it was an easy yes because heart disease has been part of my family for generations. I watched my grandfather die at 57 from dilated cardiomyopathy, and my dad underwent a heart transplant just before he turned 57. Now I face my own heart issues, including early heart failure and persistent arrhythmia. I underwent an ablation which resulted in life-threatening complications, including massive pulmonary emboli. An emergency heart catheterization got me back on track, and I'm grateful for this opportunity to give back through the American Heart Association.

We created the loop not just to promote exercise, but also to increase awareness around a number of issues related to heart health. This 2 mile loop will begin and end here at the YMCA. Along the way, you'll scan QR codes, which will either be a video sharing a powerful heart story or an educational graphic related to heart health. There are 15 stops which are indicated on the map. Make sure you take your selfie at stop number 14 and post it and tag Amysgratefulheart in order to be entered into the drawing for our awesome fitness basket.
