Megan Todd: Hi, my name is Megan Todd and I'm the Program Director at Context Travel. My job is curating the entire portfolio of tours that we offer at Context.
Megan Todd: And that includes our multi-day Journeys, which are a curated trip to a destination with a local expert, to dig deep into a certain time period, subject matter, and place.
What makes this Journey to Amsterdam such a special experience?
Megan Todd: I think what makes this journey special is that we've curated all aspects of it for you. So, we have situated the group in a beautiful boutique hotel in the center of Amsterdam, with views out over the canals, walking distance to everything. Easy access to restaurants and shopping and museums. We've organized excursions out of the city, so we'll take advantage of the of the beautiful countryside, and getting to the Hague and to the museums that are located there. We'll even get to the seaside for lunch. We're really exploring this country and all of what it has to offer. We've brought this beautiful place together with a Context expert, which is something that will enrich the experience not only from the art historical point of view, but also because we're matching the group with a local expert. So, someone who was born and raised in in the Netherlands, who knows this place intimately, and can educate us too about Dutch culture.
What can you tell us about the process of designing this itinerary?
Megan Todd: So the design of this week in the Netherlands with Sabry is really about bringing together a group of people who are all passionate about discovery and learning and travel, and who want to go deep together in a shared experience in the Netherlands. So it's not only about Art History, it's also about building community amongst ourselves. It's about understanding another culture, both through food, through art, through place, through scenery, through all of the other inputs that we'll get in this week together. What's important about this journey is that we thought of all of the details for you. So, you just need to pack and and come and join us in Amsterdam!
