Speaker: Steven Eiss, O.D., AOA Third Party Center Executive Committee Chair
Reason #1 to attend the AOA Reimbursement and Coverage Fairness Town Hall Oct. 29
Steven Eiss, O.D.: The first reason to attend the AOA Vision Plan Town Hall is that vision plan issues are a top concern voiced by doctors of optometry. Whether you are an AOA member or not, a doctor who owns a practice, (or) employed by a corporate entity, vision plan abuses affect us all in in our everyday practices. From limiting our patient choices to clawing back payments years after the patient was told they were covered, learning to better navigate these issues is an invaluable tool in the care of our patients.
Reason #2 to attend the AOA Reimbursement and Coverage Fairness Town Hall Oct. 29
Steven Eiss, O.D.: The second reason to attend the AOA Vision Plan Town Hall is that there is no better source for advocacy than the volunteers and staff of the AOA. We work with the payers directly when issues come up, we call them out when issues are being mishandled or outright ignored. We often know the answer to your issue already as we have probably already helped another member with the same problem. And if it is a new issue, we usually have the lines of communication in place to start the process of remedying that problem.
Reason #3 to attend the AOA Reimbursement and Coverage Fairness Town Hall Oct. 29
Steven Eiss, O.D.: The third reason to attend the AOA Vision Plan Town Hall is that our advocacy is shaped by you. We can't advocate for issues, we don't know about. Oftentimes issues are regional or only affect certain providers. The more information we have from you, the member, the better we can address the issues early and often fix them before they become widespread.
