Kelly Deering: So, I benefited personally and professionally from the Leadership Institute through the AOA in so many different ways. I really wish I would have had this training in optometry school actually. And all the virtual courses were, were so valuable to me. I wish that I could take it again. It was incredible. So I feel like I learned a lot about myself, you know. You take some personality tests and learn about your strengths and weaknesses and learning how to embrace your weaknesses, work on them. That some weaknesses that I had were actually strengths, you know, being taught that you can work on public speaking, you can work on negotiating and just getting comfortable with the uncomfortable I learned just so much through the AOA leadership institute. One of my favorite parts was developing my own leadership brand and that has been so valuable to me as a person. It's made me healthier, it's made me a better doctor, a better business owner. And I've also developed, better qualities as a community leader in my town. And so AOA Leadership Institute just continues to be valuable to me. And like honestly, every facet of my life.
Kelly Deering: In all seriousness. The one word that I would use to summarize my experience with the AOA Leadership Institute: I would say it was life-changing. That is the word: life-changing. Because I've utilized everything I've learned in nearly every part of my life and every role that I play in my family, in my business as a doctor in my town. The AOA Leadership Institute was life changing for me.
