Hi, everyone. My name is Victoria Laws and I am currently enrolled at Rocky Mountain University and I believe that to fully achieve the level of diversity in optometry that we all hope for it requires that we overcome a variety of systemic obstacles. Optometry Cares dismantles some of these barriers and truly gives upcoming minority students the comfort and confidence to enter the field. Knowing that there's an organization that is willing to help them achieve their professional goals. In a profession, like optometry, diversity isn't just a goal but a necessity. And Optometry Cares supports the enrichment of the profession by creating a path for different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to enter the optometric field.
