Reason No. 1 for applying for the AOA Investigator Initiated Research Award:

Jason Marsack: The first reason you should apply for the AOA Investigator Initiated Research grant is it's an easy application. They only ask for what they need to evaluate your idea and your ability to do the work. I found it to be a very straightforward application to put together and to submit. So, yeah, very easy.

Reason No. 2 for applying for the AOA Investigator Initiated Research Award:

Jason Marsack: The second reason you should consider applying for the AOA Investigator Initiated Research Award is that the AOA is a great organization. I personally felt very pleased that we won the award from an optometric-associated organization like the AOA. Working at a college of optometry and then being supported by an organization that is at the forefront of promoting and moving optometry forward-- was very meaningful to me personally. So I hope that's the case for you too.

Reason No. 3 for applying for the AOA Investigator Initiated Research Award:

Jason Marsack: The third reason you should consider applying for the AOA Investigator Initiated Research Award is that it's going to move your research forward. The funding landscape out there right now is very challenging. Winning money is extremely important to keep these projects moving. And if you are successful in winning this award, the amount is such that it will definitely help you move those research goals forward. So, I hope that you consider this award and make and put in an application and hope that keeps your research moving forward.
