Jacquie M. Bowen, O.D.: In 2024, I want to amp up the message that everybody needs to be in a lifelong relationship with their optometrist. There's a lot more noise and distraction now. But several years ago, the AOA committed to breaking through it with our message and it's working. This year, we'll look to see even greater success in making the public aware that proper eye care is part of proper health care.
Jacquie M. Bowen, O.D.: I tell people all the time, you learn so much by being an AOA volunteer and by being engaged because I volunteer, I'm a better doctor. I'm a better boss and, frankly, I'm a better patient. I mean, let's face it. The best doctors in the country are right here in this room. It makes us all wiser and better.
