Speaker: Andrea Thau
Andrea Thau: Optometry Cares has impacted me tremendously as someone who was involved with the other AOA volunteers in the creation of what's arguably optometry's most powerful public health program, InfantSEE. Optometry Cares' funding of that program has made vision care accessible to all babies starting in the first year of life. In addition, the optometry disaster relief program (OFDR) has really helped a lot of our colleagues during very difficult times. And the archives are a way that we save and preserve our history.
Andrea Thau: Optometry Cares is our foundation. It's the foundation of the American Optometric Association. And if we don't support our own charitable initiatives, no one else will. I strongly encourage you to support the AOA Foundation's important work. If we're not for ourselves, no one else will be for us.
