Hi, I'm Danny Guy, Past President and Academy Fellow since 1989. I'm from LaGrange, Georgia and I fully support the proposed update to our standards of professionalism. The update will align with our already published policies on avoiding harassment, bullying or discrimination. You know, I'm not alone in my support and I've been joined by over 100 colleagues on the B.O.C., the 46 members of the B.O.S. and the 16 members of your Board of Directors, all of whom, have not only carefully reviewed, but have already voted to support and endorse this important measure. The Academy already requires as a mandatory standard that an orthopaedic surgeon shall conduct himself or herself in a professional manner in interactions with colleagues and other health care professionals. This latest proposed amendment offers further clarity and includes avoiding these obvious unprofessional behaviors. Our Standards of Professionalism are backstopped by a very robust Professional Compliance Program. It's a guard rail. The program has repeatedly received strong survey support and is highly valued by you, our members. The process is designed to handle disputes in a fair and balanced way. To be clear, the grievance process does not involve an investigation by the Academy. That role is fulfilled prior to acceptance for Academy review. Rather, it's a multi-step, careful and thorough review of evidence provided from both parties when a grievance arises. You know, since 2005, we've had 240 filed grievances with less than one half -- That's 100 and four moving past the first stage, which is a very exhaustive prima facia review process. And that's a testament that frivolous claims really don't have much chance of moving forward. Our Standards of Professional, established the minimum baseline standard of acceptable conduct for orthopaedic surgeons. I feel certain that you will agree with me that harassment, bullying and discrimination, they're just unprofessional. So please join me in voting. YES, in support of the proposed amendment. Thank you.
