What was your background before joining Align and how did Align Academy help you learn?
Fahim Waliullah: Hello. My name is Wali and I was in sales and marketing before joining Align coming from a non payroll background. Align Academy was an integral part of my training. After learning everything on paper, it was still hard to visualize myself performing the tasks that's where Align Academy came in and connected the dots. It showed me the do's and don'ts. It also enables me to use my training in a controlled environment with my coach and find the gaps in my learning before my first project.
How much personal attention and coaching did you receive in Align Academy?
Fahim Waliullah: The best part about Align Academy is the attention to detail and the individual coaching. For a curious person like myself, it was hard to get everything out of my instructor in a group setting. But Penny, my coach at Align Academy, was very quick to identify my shortcomings and my strengths. She spent quality time with us in between training to know us on a personal level and make us feel welcome within Align. She made me feel extremely comfortable asking questions and facilitated tasks and quizzes to solidify my knowledge.
What stands out to you about the culture at Align?
Fahim Waliullah: The part for me that separates Align from other companies is that leaders are visible and accessible. They're always better to help and eager to share knowledge and best practices. Secondly, Align offers a ton of professional development opportunities. Everyone shares a learning mentality. Thirdly, even in such a short period of time, I can get the sense that people here are not just colleagues but friends. They will take the time to get to know you and make you feel welcome, and that is genuinely hard to find in other companies.
