Andrea Mishio: Hello, I am a kindergarten teacher with Edmonton public School board. Um I want to say how class sizes impact our students learning. So this year we have three kindergarten French immersion classes with 21 students in it, which is an ideal number. However, with cutbacks next year, those 60 two kindergartners are going into two grade one classes. So 31 kids to be learning a second language is unacceptable. And we also have 59 kindergartners going into kindergarten into two classes. So that means 28 and 29. How are we expecting young learners to learn a second language or to be able to absorb anything when there are so many kids in the class? How much teaching will get done? Probably minimal because you're dealing with so many behavior, other issues that that is what predominantly takes over your class time. So let's be realistic here. Let's make these class sizes down to 2124 at the very most.
