Speaker: Andrew Geider, Technology as a Threat to Privacy; Ethical Challenges to the Information Profess

Andrew Geider: Hello, my name is Andrew Geider and I'm the records and information specialist at the City of Burnaby in British Columbia, Canada. I'm on the ECM enterprise content management implementation team. We are currently deleting ROT, which is redundant, obsolete and transitory electronic records, as well as duplicate ones for a smoother execution. I'm speaking on Technology as a Threat to Privacy, Ethical Challenges to the Information Profession.

Andrew Geider: Some of the takeaways from my presentation are first of all, understanding the concept of privacy and why it is so important for us, also to recognize the influence of technology in processing personal information. And finally, the informational professional us, you and me, accepts the implication of managing private data. Now, why should one attend AIIM 2024. Well, there are several very good reasons. The first is to gain a new perspective. To engage in healthy discussions for a new angle and how we do things. The second is for cutting edge insights. Participants get a firsthand look at the latest trends and innovations. And finally, for me, to get inspiration from others to discover, listen, understand and generate exciting new ideas. I'm looking forward to seeing you in San Antonio.
