Speaker: Liz, Director
Liz: Hi, I'm Liz. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I am a customer of hemp products.
Liz: A specific way that hemp has impacted my life, business, or community is definitely community above all, with a little bit of business, and that just means my professional life, not exactly like my business, but I found a lot of friends and made a lot of really important connections by going to places that sell hemp and sitting outside and meeting the people that are there. I've met met a lot of people that I'm now working with and that I've I've created friends through and just overall, like when I go to these places where I can buy hemp and sit around with friends and use it. We get to this relaxed place that it, it's, it's. Really great after like a long day and and just to connect with other humans and I think that connection is the most important part of humans being alive. I think that's the entire reason why we're here, why we can talk, why we have consciousnesses and being able to have a space where we can. Use these products that help our minds get into a wavelength with each other that creates a sense of community and connection is so important, especially in this day and age where social media keeps us so isolated. And yeah, I, I have met some really great amazing influential people through. Connecting with them because of the the jointness of these products, and I don't know if I would have met them if and had these conversations if we weren't in these places using these products and I just, I just love it like. It, it, it helps me relax. It helps me think about my life. It helps me stay locked in when I need to focus. It helps me relax if I don't want to focus. It, it's just, it is a really great product. There, there hasn't been any downsides that I can't control of my own self, just like. Just like alcohol, it's the same, it basically is the same effects, obviously if you smoke it all day every day, just if you drink all day every day, it's the same, it's negative, but if you use it when you need to, when you want to in moderation, all the things when it's regulated, I think that it can be really really. Powerful. Just like alcohol can make people connect with each other and relax after a long day of work or whatever, or you can go to a bar, which is a place where that product is sold and you can connect with people. I've met a lot of people at bars, drinking alcohol, and I've met a lot of people at these weed bars and hemp places and I just think it's, it's. There's no point in Getting rid of it.
Liz: What changes for me is honestly just one less place to. Meet people and connect with them. And with the rise of social media and just the way our culture is changing right now, it's harder and harder to find community spaces where you can meet people and bond over something and, and really just, I feel like almost anyone can use hemp. It's, it's not like an athletic club or or a book club or something like that. It's somewhere where you can go there because you have one common theme that you haven't like that you want to do together, but you can be like everything else about that person can be so different from you, and there's not a lot of places where you can do that. Like there is alcohol, but a lot of the time when you drink alcohol, you get too rowdy and. And when you're using hemp, you kind of just relax and get more focused and more silly, more willing to be connecting with people, talk about deeper things, more like a deeper emotional connection, and say these products are come off the shelf December 11th, like I will be losing that outlet, which is so sad for me because I've made so many really Cool connections with people, really great friends through the, the, the spaces where these products are sold and I think it would just be sad. I think regulation is great. Let's just keep it that way, just like alcohol.
Liz: What I'd want my lawmakers to get right on hemp is, I would like their perspective to be well educated and well versed on facts and opinions and perspectives. And I think that once a lawmaker can get a full picture of what hemp can be, because there are definitely both sides to the story, but it's important to consider both sides and consider the full picture, so I would like the lawmakers to get that right, or at least just become as much aware as possible. And I would also like them to get right I don't know. I guess that's it. I don't really know a lot about like the actual chemicals or anything like that, but I would just want them to make a decision that is empathetic and understanding and fully aware of both sides.
