Speaker: Sara Stewart, New York City Chapter Coordinator
Sara Stewart: Hello, my name is Sarah Stewart. I am AYP chapter coordinator for New York City. I have been volunteering with AYP for about a year now and I used to be the events coordinator. We focused a lot on bringing you events to help bolster your prayer life. This year. I will be helping to bring more events for the chapter for my full-time work. I am a special education high school teacher and I really enjoy my job.
What inspires you to volunteer with AYP?
Sara Stewart: I volunteer with AYP because during the pandemic, this is the place that I found community. And I know sometimes as adventist young professionals, we are usually the only Adventist in our workplace or we're usually sometimes even the only Christian, especially in New York City. And so I really volunteer with this organization to really create community um with people who are in similar life stages.
Tell us about the exciting opportunities on your team!
Sara Stewart: All right. So if you're looking for a place where you could lend your talents and your gifts. AYP, New York City team is looking for people who are willing to volunteer. If you're looking for your people, we're here. Like, where else would you go? We're here. So we're looking for a community coordinator, a communication, coordinator, a spiritual care coordinator and events coordinator and also a groups coordinator. So we have about five roles open right now on the team. So if you feel like your personality can fit into any of these roles, definitely feel free to reach out for more information.
How do you envision this role having a missional impact?
Sara Stewart: So all of these different roles can be catered and tailored to bringing forth different missional visions. So depending on whatever your vision is, as a team, we will work together to really impact not only AYP New York City members, but we also have a very firm mission ground around us in the five boroughs of New York City even extended to Long Island and the Westchester area County. And so we will definitely be working and fleshing out vision and we will bring visions to life to impact people who are in, who are in the most need.
