Speaker: Cathy Li, AYP Graphic Designer

Introduce yourself, and tell us about yourself (hobbies, faith, career, etc.).

Cathy Li: Hey, my name is Kathy Li I am a graphic designer by trade and I work at Texas A&M University Commerce and I'm happy to say I've been an Adventist for just about eight years now. Um, and I love the arts. I love music. I love reading. Uh, I have tons of different hobbies, so, just a little about me.

Describe how Adventist Young Professionals has been a blessing to you.

Cathy Li: AYP has really been a blessing to me uh just based on the mission. You know, I think it's really great that young adults, young professionals like myself can stay connected to others who are in our faith. Sharing a lot of the same struggles and we get to do mission together and empower one another.

What has been your favorite experience with AYP?

Cathy Li: My favorite experience with AYP has been the AYP mission trip uh last year in California. It was super cool. That was my first ever mission. Um and it was just so much fun. Um and such a blessing to be around other young people like myself, especially because the church that I'm, you know, my home church doesn't have a whole lot of young people. So it was a really exciting opportunity for me to connect with other people about my age. Uh and to, to just do mission together.

How have you seen God through the mission and ministry of Adventist Young Professionals?

Cathy Li: I think I've been able to see God at work with AYP in a number of different ways. But I think for me, especially after that mission trip, just being able to see young people united. I mean, that's, that's the Holy Spirit right there united in mission and doing God's work and sharing His love with the world, um, in all sorts of different ways, uh, and just growing spiritually and uplifting one another.

What is your dream for the Adventist Church?

Cathy Li: My dream for the church is that young people will feel supported uh by older generations because they are our future. We are the future. And also that we as a church can find different, more creative and culturally relevant ways to share the love of Christ. Um especially as time draws to a close.
